Dear Members and Friends of the Cathedral,

It is fun to see the World Cup celebrations around the city. Hope you’re enjoying all of it.

Happy Birthday today to Bill Blankenship, and thanks for all you do as sacristan, server, tour guide, catechist and more.

Saturday at 9:30 a.m. the Women’s Spirituality group is meeting in the Regis Room, open as always to new members.

This Sunday we celebrate baptism with the Wombwell family at the 9 a.m. Mass. Congratulations, everyone! Bishop Johnston will preside, and I’ll concelebrate. The bishop will preside for the 11 a.m. Mass as well. Father Riley will hear confessions and celebrate Mass on Saturday, and I’ll preside Sunday night.

Those interested in joining the church meet Sunday mornings. If you know someone who would like more information, have them to fill out our form.

Adult faith formation starts a new series on Monday night, discussing the Bible Timeline.

Application forms for positions on our staff are here. We are seeking an events coordinator and a director of stewardship and development.

Thanks to those who are contributing to our various funds. We could really use your help on debt reduction. Our debt and interest payments are hurting us from accomplishing more. If you’d like to contribute, go here.

I’ll be offering communion minister training here on Monday. If you are interested, go to our website and click on “Get Involved.”

In Christ,

P. S.  Since we’re celebrating an infant baptism this Sunday morning, here’s a photo of the baptismal font at the cathedral of Seville, one of Kansas City’s sister cities.
