Dear Members and Friends of the Cathedral,
It’s great to be home again, and I look forward to seeing you at Masses this weekend. I’ll hear confessions and preside on Saturday. Father Ken will preside Sunday morning, and I’ll return to celebrate with you on Sunday night.
This Saturday morning the Women’s Spirituality Group gathers in the Regis Room for an hour starting at 9:30.
Sunday afternoon is the annual French Organ Music Festival. I will accompany the cathedral schola in a performance of the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré. The last several years we’ve sung its movements at a special Mass with Bishop Johnston on November 2. This year we’ll perform it all in concert. Our segment starts at 3 p.m. but the entire program, which will be superb, runs from 2 to 5 p.m. Please join us.
The Knights of Columbus invite you to support their drive for school supplies this weekend.
Those interested in joining the church meet Sunday mornings at 10. If you know someone who would like more information, please invite them to fill out our form.
On Monday you may help serve a meal at the Towers next door after the 12:15 Mass.
Adult faith formation continues on Monday night at 6:30, discussing the Bible Timeline. You are welcome to join.
The pastoral council meets on Wednesday evening.
Next month we’ll conduct the diocesan Annual Catholic Appeal, when I’ll also ask you to pledge contributions to the cathedral. Please start thinking about your commitment to both these causes.
In Christ,

P. S. This weekend we’ll hear the account of Jesus entrusting to Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Here’s an image of Peter holding the keys. It’s inside the Basilica of St. Denis right outside Paris. It was the first Gothic church to be built, serving as an inspiration for the more famous cathedral of Notre Dame.
